Living Room. Renovation of the space for the Center's "Living Room" program was scheduled to be completed by the end of January with programming beginning this month. When finished, the renovation will provide a meeting room, pantry, counselingmeditation room, and bathroom. The space will be disability-accessible.

The "Living Room" is a drop-in center for men and women with AIDS or who are HIV-positive. The project will provide ongoing recreational programs as well as support and counseling. It will also be a source for alternative healing forums and workshops accompanied by an extensive multimedia library. The Center recently received a $15,000 grant from the Western Reserve AIDS Foundation and a $28,000 grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation for support of this program.

During the next two months, designers, decorators, and furnishing professionals will be designing the facility. Please contact the Center if you or anyone with design or home-decorating skills is interested in helping us plan a warm and healing place.

Speakers Bureau. We are formalizing our Speaker's Bureau. Of particular need are speakers to address college audiences. If you have experience in public speaking and are willing to represent the community openly, contact the Center.

New social group. With the passing of GRASP (singles social group), there has been tentative discussions for establishing a new lesbian-gay social group or activity, The success of the Women's Coffeehouse has resulted in numerous inquiries for a Men's Coffeehouse. It has also been suggested the Center sponsor a monthly video night or other regular social activity. Seed money to establish such a group or activity has been donated by GRASP. Let the Center know if you are interested in helping develop such a group or activity.
